Program Summary: This is a 3-hour training workshop that will provide an overview of the safety hazards present at roadway incidents and a series of strategies and tactics designed to help save lives and prevent injuries to emergency response personnel. This is a program designed to accommodate a mixed audience of personnel from Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, EMS, Transportation and the Towing & Recovery Industry. The intent is to reinforce the hazards of working at roadway incidents and to encourage joint training, collaboration, communication and coordination of response strategies. The emphasis is on protecting emergency responders at incident scenes and restoring normal traffic flow as quickly as possible. This class is designed for Chiefs, Line Officers, Supervisors, Managers and other agency leaders who can implement change within their respective departments.
 

Instructor: Jack Sullivan, CSP, CFPS
Jack is the Director of Training for the Emergency Responder Safety Institute and a retired firefighter with 25 years of service that included time with both Paoli and Lionville Fire Co.’s. Jack is a Master Instructor for the FHWA National Traffic Incident Management training program. Jack is nationally recognized for his work on roadway incident safety for Fire & EMS and currently serves on a number of committees focused on the safety of firefighters, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers, safety service patrol operators, transportation and towing & recovery operators. He was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Fire Dept. Safety Officers Association for 20 years of work dedicated to highway incident safety.
