Program Description 

DESCRIPTION:  Truck companies, regardless of whether they arrive on an aerial device, squad, or engine are the ‘combat engineers’ of fire attack operations. This course, for experienced firefighters, will introduce the student to the basic concept of truck company operations and duties, including organizing the delivery of truck company services, selection and use of key tools, advanced ventilation and forcible entry theory and practices, search and rescue, and other fire attack support functions. Truck company support to the engine company is also discussed. Students may be asked to provide apparatus for the practical portion.


PREREQUISITE: A certificate indicating a live fire training program (i.e. SBS, ZSFB, ELIF) or Fire Fighter I Certification.


FEE: $100.00 per student.    Out of County $150.00


CERTIFICATION:  Pennsylvania State Fire Academy certificate for Truck Company Operations will be issued upon the successful completion of the course.


REQUIREMENTS: Full turnout gear including SCBA with spare cylinder will be required 


ENROLLMENT: Limited to 24 students per class.

May 4th and 5th 

Weeknights -- 7 pm to 10 pm

Weekends -- 8 am to 4:30 pm
