Description: Running an effective fire service organization, whether career, combination, or volunteer, requires leaders.  Many line and administrative officers are very competent in technical areas, but need training and skill practice in key managerial strategies to reach their full potential in leading their organizations.  This course is targeted at department - level officers (Chief, Assistant/Deputy Chief) or upwardly - mobile company officers who wish to improve their leadership skills in the areas of situational leadership, delegating, coaching and discipline.  It may also be applicable to those administration officers of volunteer organization (president, secretary/treasurer, etc.) who find that their responsibilities require similar skills.

Training Audience: Fire, EMS or rescue personnel due for promotion/appointment to officer rank or supervisory positions.

Prerequisite(s): Leadership I: Strategies for Company Success, and Leadership II: Strategies for Personal Success.

Recommended five years of fire service experience and or administrative fire duties.  (I.e. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Trustee, etc.)

Course Length: 16-hours

Certification: National Fire Academy Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of this course.

Textbook: Manual will be provided

Equipment Needs: Note-taking material.
