Course Description: Law enforcement today provides all public safety personnel the opportunity for involvement in many high-risk situations, exposing individual officers and the entire agency to a variety of many times dangerous and possibly litigious situations. Learning how to recognize these high risks situations early, and effectively address them by minimizing and managing the risk successfully, is critical for everyone involved. This course will provide participants with an in-depth review of the new Situational Awareness and Performance model, which focuses on increasing situational awareness and increasing the individual officer’s performance during calls and incidents by making the right decisions, communicating those decisions effectively and always acting in a professional manner. Participants will learn how to successfully manage individual, team and organizational high performance and eliminate risks wherever possible, via following policy, standard operating procedures, identified processes and best practices. Participants will also discover how important enforcing policy and procedures are to the various administrative, operations and support services functions within the law enforcement and public safety organization today.
