Description: This course will prepare persons selected as fire police officers to operate and preform the basic duties of the position. This course provides instruction on the proper method to the appointed, the laws pertaining to fire police, their powers and expected duties. The course is a combination of lecture, discussion, demonstration and supervised hands on practice. During this class students will participate in skills outside of the classroom. To prepare selected to be Fire Police Officers to know the initial legal requirements and to understand how to perform the basic duties of the position. 

Training Audience: Those individuals selected to be fire police officers in their organization.

Course Length: 16-hours

Certification: Pennsylvania State Fire Academy

Textbook: Manual issued in class

Equipment Needs: Pen / pencil, note-taking material. Auxiliary equipment: helmet, eye protection, reflective vest, proper footwear for outside activities, whistle, flashlight, gloves, PPE for weather as appropriate
