Course Description: This four-hour course is an overview of addiction, intervention/treatment, and the Chester County’s District Attorney’s endorsed policy of the Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI) for law enforcement officers. The goal of this course is to understand addiction as a chronic disease and how stigma impacts the pursuit of treatment. Officers during this course will gain some insight of being trauma informed and with that understanding use it during interactions and interventions in the community.

Officers will also learn about the Chester County District Attorney’s endorsed policy of Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI).

The course consists of six modules:

  • Module I: Understanding Addiction
  • Module II: Understanding Trauma
  • Module III: Impact of Stigma
  • Module IV: Prevention and Intervention
  • Module V: Understanding Treatment
  • Module VI: Practical skills
