Pistol Manipulation for Deadly Force Encounters

 

Description: This course is designed to train officers on the various manipulations involved in professional use of a firearm prior to and after actual firing. Subjects include reloading, carry positions, movement, retention, and all fundamentals needed for use of a firearm in the real world. Having these necessary skills committed to a programmed response allows officer to have external focus (the threat) as opposed to internal focus (their actions). This also builds confidence in the officers’ tools and can assist in limiting unintentional / negligent acts. This is dry fire class using GLOCK17T training pistols and Simunition Quiet Blanks. Training pistols and blanks will be provided.

Training Audience: Law Enforcement Officers

Prerequisite(s): None 

Course Length: 8-hours

Textbook: Training materials will be provided in class.

Equipment Needs: Pen / pencil, note-taking material. In addition, the following is also required equipment for this course:

  • Duty gear; including vest and eye protection.
