Description: Officer Level Leadership class is an immersive three-day Leadership course, offering 24 contact hours, open to all first-level law enforcement professionals, (first-line employees). This course open to only those specific employees that do not yet hold rank. We developed this course to serve emerging leaders, informal leaders in your organization, and first-line employees who seek to better understand leadership principles. This course was created to empower officers to be the leaders the public expect during these difficult times, while at the same time helping them develop ways to grow their leadership long after the class ends. This class also helps officers find balance in their lives, which helps to make them better employee. The Officer Level Leadership class will be three days of intense and interactive learning.

Often officers believe they have little or no value within their organization except to make arrests, write reports and issue citations. An organization’s true strength is their personnel that are interacting with the public numerous times every day and are either improving the organization’s brand or damaging it. Supervisors don’t have enough time in a day to repair those damaged relationships which are negatively impacting the agencies brand and credibility.

This class is designed for any law enforcement employee (including civilian personnel) that have NO formal rank or direct supervisory responsibilities at their agency and to help them realize and embrace their leadership roles.

Among the topics to be discussed in this interactive class are:

  • Mindfulness and Organizational Ownership
  • Understanding Leadership
  • Liability-Duty to Intervene
  • Behavioral De-Escalation
  • Communication & Motivation
  • Techniques for Leading at the Officer Level.

This class is not open to formal supervisors. Corporals are permitted to attend. No sergeants or above. Non-Sworn line level personnel are also encouraged to attend.
