Firefighter 2 Training ELFF2 (EL-26)

Course Description: This 56-hour program builds on previous training by developing advanced suppression skills, including flammable liquid and gas fires, and preparing students to lead crews in coordinated fireground operations. The course also emphasizes incident command, pre-incident planning, and public fire safety education, equipping firefighters to operate safely at complex incidents and engage effectively in community risk reduction. Included in this program is a 6-hour annual Hazmat Operations refresher and an 8 hour live firefighting day.

This course is the third and final module of the PA State Fire Academy’s Entry Level Fire Training Curriculum. At the completion of this program, the student will have the opportunity to take the NFPA Pro Board exam for Firefighter 2 for those that have competed Basic Vehicle Rescue Operations Training.

Prerequisite (s): Firefighter 1 Training (ELFF1) Must be 18 years old at the start of the course.

Equipment Needs: Note-taking material. Full PPE (helmet, gloves, turnout coat and pants, boots, protective hood, ear plugs and safety glasses/goggles. Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, spare SCBA air cylinder. Long pants, socks, long sleeve shirt that is cotton or 50-50. No mesh or wicking material.1 piece of ½ inch utility rope for knot typing that is 15 feet in length. The Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills (5th Ed.) – Jones & Bartlett Student manual that was issued in Fireground Support.
