Description: This extended version of Aerial Apparatus Practices (AELX) builds the foundational concepts of aerial operations and focuses on advanced driving, positioning, and operational techniques. Students will take their knowledge and skills to the next level through three full days of hands-on practical scenarios designed to simulate real-world incidents. Participants will refine their ability to safely and effectively operate aerial apparatus in a variety of challenging environments, emphasizing strategic placement, apparatus setup, and crew coordination. This course is ideal for certified Emergency Vehicle Drivers and aspiring aerial operators who want to deepen their understanding of apparatus capabilities and improve their decision-making under realistic conditions.

In addition to Aerial Driver/Operator training, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) will be covered as well. EVDT is an 8+ hour classroom-based program with outdoor practical work. It is a comprehensive program designed to enhance the safety, skill, and professionalism of emergency vehicle operators. The course focuses on defensive driving techniques, vehicle dynamics, risk management, and decision-making under pressure.
