Course Description : This program is being presented by members of the Chester County Hazmat Team, it is intended to provide guidance on safely handling the first ten minutes of a hazardous materials incident.

Topics include

  • Chester County Hazardous Material Incident Dispatch Protocols.
  • Incident command positions.
  • How to conduct a through size up.
  • Seven clues of a hazardous materials incident.
  • APIE-T (Analyze, Plan, Implement, Evaluate, Terminate).
  • Isolating the area and securing the scene.
  • Operating Modes (offensive, defensive, take no action).

Training Audience: Firefighters and Officers

Prerequisites: Age 16 or older, Hazmat Operations Level training.
