Description: This 32-hour course will equip entry level firefighters with the knowledge, skills, and abilities focusing on fire ground emergency scenes. The course will consist of lecture and practical’s consisting of:

• Fire Hose
• Water Supply/Hose Operations
• SCBA/Field Reduction of Contaminants
• Building Construction
• Ropes and Knots
• Scene Lighting

This course is the second module of the PA State Fire Academy’s Entry Level Fire Training Curriculum

Training Audience: Firefighters starting their career in the fire service

Prerequisite(s): Must be 14 years old, Intro to the Fire Services (ELIS) certificate, Hazardous Materials Awareness, skill book.

Age 14 to 18, students must possess proper work permit from your sending school district. They must be turned on the first day of training. Earlier submissions are ok.

Course Length: 32-hours

Textbook: Fire Fighting manual (textbook can be provided at an additional cost) 

Equipment Needs: Note-taking material and full PPE (helmet, gloves, turnout coat and pants, boots, protective hood, and safety glasses/goggles)
