Description: Military staff rides have been in use in the United States since 1871, when General William Tecumseh Sherman decided to use the battlefield as a leadership training ground. The Battle of Gettysburg has been used by militias all over the world, to philosophically study decision making, leadership and organizational behavior principles. These same principles, even though part of our nation's history, can still be applied to many of the challenges facing leaders in public safety today.
