There is no charge for this training. It is funded through state and federal grants. Description: This course is designed to provide the solo officer (off-duty/plain clothes/uniform) with the knowledge, physical skills, and mind set on how to isolate, distract, or neutralize an armed threat like an active shooter. This course will cover:
Officers attending this should be able to walk moderate distances, jog, kneel, crawl, and lift moderate weigh. Prerequisite(s): Sworn law enforcement officer Course Length: 16 hours Equipment Needs: handgun with magazines, 300 rounds of ammunition, side concealment holster, sturdy belt, two shirts to cover handgun (on button-down/jacket, on t-shirt/polo-style), uniform shirt with police patches, badge in carrier, rain gear, and eye and ear protection. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging.
