Description: This 16-hour program is designed for fire officers and firefighters responsible for operating brush trucks, engines, tankers, and ATVs during wildland fire incidents. Topics covered in class are scene size up, incident command, maintenance and the operation of apparatus(es), different attack strategies, fire behavior, water supply, firefighter safety, and exposure protection, including structure protection.

Apparatus will be needed on March 28, 2026. Chief Todd Zeigler will work out the apparatus needs on the first day of class.

This training will be held at the Wagontown Fire Company

Training Audience: Firefighters and officers wanting to expand their knowledge. 

Prerequisite(s): Age 17 or older, ELIF (Interior Firefighter) or NFPA Firefighter 1. Experience in wildland firefighting is preferred. 

Course Length: 16 hours  

Equipment Needs: wildland or multi-mission turnout gear, long pants, socks, long sleeve shirt that is cotton or 50-50, work boots. No mesh or wicking material.
