Course Description: This course is a concentration on the skills aspect of an active threat. Physically engaging or shooting in an active threat, in a mass shooting environment, requires a high degree of skill in tactics, marksmanship, and decision making. This class goes deeper into the physical skills required to successfully end the threat. Topics include: entries and weapon utilization in a 540-degree environment (possibly 720 degree), breaching, priority of work, and threshold management. The majority of these skills are based on the ALERRT training from Texas State University Training Audience: Law Enforcement Officers Prerequisite (s): None Equipment Needs: Note-taking material and duty gear.
