Description: Over one hundred thousand individuals have been nationally certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) since the standardized curriculum and certification program began in 1997. CPS Technicians use their considerable knowledge and expertise at a variety of community-based activities, such as child safety seat checks, where parents and caregivers receive education and hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts. The National Standardized Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Course is typically four days long and combines classroom instruction, written quizzes, indoor and outdoor hands-on activities, skills assessments with car seats and vehicles, and a community safety seat checkup event. You will receive a copy of the technician guide and will be expected to read it as part of the course instruction.Training Audience: Open to all Certification: Successful completion of this course certifies the individual as a CPS technician for two years. There is a course fee of $95. Textbook: All course materials, including the workbook, are included in your registration feeEquipment Needs: Pen / pencil, note-taking material.
