Course Description: This course equips patrol officers with the psychological and tactical tools needed to safely lower the intensity of high stress crisis encounters. Designed for patrol, this class bridges the gap between tactical awareness and communication, prioritizing officer safety while securing peaceful resolutions. The main topics will include officer mindset, de-escalation skills, scene assessment, and trauma informed approaches. Students will also learn suicide risk assessment and suicidal responses.
