Advanced Patrol Rifle Operations 

Description: This training opportunity is designed for the uniformed patrol officer who may deploy a patrol rifle in an active

-shooter type incident, who is seeking advanced firearms training. This course is designed to enhance the officer’s ability to properly manipulate/fire their rifle system in a variety of stressful patrol situations. The attending officer should have an advanced working knowledge of their patrol rifle’s function(s) ballistic capabilities and limitations, before attending this class. This course is being taught by Chester County Law Enforcement personnel, trained and certified as Patrol Rifle Instructors by the NRA & NTOA and are recognized as advanced instructors in firearms training.

This training will consist of classroom lecture, (CCDES) range safety procedures and various practical firearms (range) shooting segments/scenarios. Officers will experience physical and mental stressors, dim-light shooting, transitional shooting, unorthodox positional shooting and shooting on the move. Practical shooting exercises will be used to evaluate the student/officers progress and knowledge/skills retention.

Equipment requirements: patrol r ifle & sling / optics/ with 500 rounds of ammo (.223 / 5.56), three-(20 or 30 round) magazines, eye and hearing protection, department issued body armor, baseball-style cap, full duty belt, pistol (100 rounds of pistol ammo) This is a dynamic class environment. This course is NOT INTENDED for basic marksmanship, or remedial training. This is an ADVANCED shooting class conducted indoors at both the 50 and 100 yard ranges.

NOTE: If your rifle is equipped with optics requiring batteries, make sure that you bring extra batteries. Inoperable optics will be removed from the weapon system and iron sights (an alternative sighting system) will be utilized/required
