Description: A fire organization that knows where it is going, knows the environment in which it must operate and has identified how to get there has the best chance of achieving its goals and desires. This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the components of strategic planning including conducting an environmental scan, utilizing a SWOT analysis, creating mission and vision statements, and developing strategic and operational goals and objectives. Attendees will have an opportunity while working in small groups to develop a basic framework for creating a strategic plan for their organization. Training Audience: Fire Chiefs and Chief Officers, administrative officers and board members, and members with budgeting, purchasing or program development responsibilities. Prerequisite(s): None Course Length: 8-hours Certification: A Chester County certificate of participation will be issued. Textbook: None Equipment Needs: Pen / pencil, note-taking material.
