Scenario Based EVOC for Patrol
Description: This a patrol-based class that focuses on the importance of the student's driving abilities and their responsibility to safely respond to incidents & react on arrival. While the classroom portion of this training delves into the case law which guides our policies as they relate to both emergency and pursuit driving, a significant portion of the classroom will focus on handling incidents that will require good communication skills, officer safety & quick scenario- based decision making. De-escalation will be a key goal for the student, but the student will train for anything. Both section of this class will be incorporated in the scenarios. This is a vehicle-based course with considerable driving coupled with emergency scenarios. A police vehicle is required, due to the limitations of the course vehicle should not be driven at speeds greater than 30 mph. Each officer will need duty gear, ballistic vest, protective eye wear & a portable radio (Chester County agencies only) This is a hands-on Simuitions based training. Officers should dress appropriately. Prerequisite(s): None Course Length: 10 hours Course Max: 10 Students
